Let us stop the new death sentence against political prisoners in Iran!

The judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued a dozen new death sentences against social activists and some of the protesters arrested in the November 2019 protests

This tightening of the oppressive policy is taking place at a time when the living conditions of Iranian workers and other working people are permanently aggravated by rampant inflation, rising living costs and increasing unemployment.

The ruling capitalist system in Iran has faced a deep recession and inflation for decades. The worsening of this crisis has driven millions of people into poverty, hunger and unemployment. At the same time, it has intensified and aggravated the irreconcilable class conflicts and opposites.

The protests and strikes by workers and other sections of society are expanding. We can mention here the strikes and protests by the miners in Kerman province and the strikes and protests by Haft Tapeh workers that have been going on for over three weeks.

Recent death sentences express the ruling regime’s fear of growing protests and struggles of Iranian workers and other workers. The regime of the Islamic Republic hopes to use a policy of intimidation, fear and terror to stop popular uprisings like last November.

The Foreign Committee of the Organization of the Fadaian (Aghaliyat) calls on all progressive and freedom-loving forces to fight against the reactionary goals of the Islamic Republic and against the policies of the executions.

We have to break the approving silence of the capitalist world. With the support and solidarity of the progressive and democratic world public, we must continue the fight against the repressive policy of the reactionary regime of the Islamic Republic more intensely than ever.

We demand the immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners, the lifting of all death sentences as well as a stop to misanthropic and medieval judgments.
