Summary of the organization’s declaration Fadaian (aghaliyat) on the occasion of May 1
On this day the workers of the
different countries are demonstrating their united will and their class
interests in the fight against capitalism and the creation of
socialism.
The continuing ten years’ lasting
crisis of the capitalist world order is carried on the shoulders of the
working class. This has intensified the contradictions inherent in
capitalism. It has repeatedly been shown that the only way to resolve
these contradictions is the destruction of capitalism and the
establishment of socialism.
Comrade workers! Fighting workers!
The workers in Iran are part of
the global working class and society and are fighting for the abolition
of exploitation and social injustice: As well as for the creation of
socialism.
The capitalists in Iran and their
supporting government have brought the workers into a difficult economic
crisis. The freezing and reduction of wages continue to intensify. The
minimum wage does not even reach 1⁄4 of the poverty limit. Temporary
employment contracts, blank employment contracts, insecure jobs, mass
dismissals and an increase in the number of young unemployed have led to
mass unemployment and the workers are increasingly sinking into
poverty, as the rich have become even richer.
The massive unemployment has
negatively affected workers’ struggles. The reprisals of the regime are
addressed, among other things, at the workers. In the last Iranian
calendar year, 400 protesting or striking workers were arrested and
sentenced to Prison time or Fine penalties, some were even sentenced to
whiplashes and fired.
Despite the repressive measures of
the regime, not a single day goes by on which protests or strikes do
not take place. For about a year, workers have organized hundreds of
protest campaigns across almost all production areas and across the
entire country, and tens of thousands have participated.
The labor disputes have not only
increased in the past year, but have also reached a new quality. It
seems that a new class consciousness has developed in the working class
movement. The workers have come out of the factories and are carrying
their protests to the streets. They distanced themselves from the
regime organizations and act independently. Their demands go beyond
their operational interests and include political slogans against the
regime. Never before have retirees and the unemployed participated in
the protests, as much as in the last year.
Comrade workers! Fighting workers!
The 1st of May is Labor Day,
the day of the demonstration of labor power. On this day demands are
made, which are ignored by the capitalists and the regime. The main
demands of the Iranian workers on this day are that the government
recognizes May 1 as a holiday and the right of workers to attend
rallies and demonstrations. In addition, the Iranian working class votes
for two main demands. These are, on the one hand, the right to
organize workers’ organizations independent of the state, the right to
strike and, on the other hand, the raising of the minimum wage over the
poverty limit.

congratulates on May 1 and supports all demands and labor struggles,
including street protests. We call upon all workers, workers
‘activists, workers’ organizations and the Activists and sympathizers of
our organization to participate in rallies and protests on 1 May.
