The annual conference of the International Labour Organization will be held during the first week of June 2026 in Geneva. As in previous years, the fascist regime ruling Iran is once again dispatching a few lackeys — in other words, enemies of the working class — to this conference as so-called “workers’ representatives.” This takes place under conditions in which workers’ protests and strikes are brutally suppressed, many genuine leaders and representatives of the working class as well as labor activists are imprisoned, and the Iranian working class is deprived even of its most basic social and human rights, including the right to establish independent organizations.

The individuals sent by the Islamic Republic to this conference are in no way representatives of Iran’s workers. The International Labour Organization is fully aware of this reality as well. However, because governments are the actual partners of this institution, and because the ILO aligns itself more closely with the interests and demands of states than with those of workers, it deliberately turns a blind eye to the condition of workers in Iran and accepts the fake representatives of the Islamic Republic as alleged labor delegates.

When the International Labour Organization is either unable or unwilling to defend workers’ interests against governments, it effectively functions as an instrument of the states and pushes the real demands and interests of millions of workers around the world into the background.

Left-wing and communist forces understand that the International Labour Organization possesses no real executive power and is not an independent institution, but rather one that largely reflects the interests of the capitalist class and its governments. The ILO has never been capable of defending the legitimate demands of workers or serving as their genuine voice.

The workers and laboring masses of Iran and the world believe that the true force for change within any society lies solely in the class movement of the workers themselves — not in international institutions tied to the capitalist system. The International Labour Organization negotiates with governments that violate workers’ rights and are their open enemies.

Defenders of workers and the oppressed!
Left-wing and communist forces!

The conference of the International Labour Organization begins under conditions in which the reactionary war waged by the governments of the United States and Israel against Iran has brought destruction and death upon the people. Unprecedented inflation and the soaring prices of essential goods have reached such levels that obtaining basic necessities has become an unattainable dream for broad sections of the population.

The bombing of sections of Iran’s infrastructure and factories by the fascist armies of the United States and Israel has thrown more than four million workers in various sectors into unemployment. The ruling regime in Iran has abandoned these workers in catastrophic social and human conditions without providing the slightest financial support. Under such circumstances, several regime lackeys are being sent to the conference of the International Labour Organization under the title of “representatives of Iran’s workers”, who not only obstruct workers’ protests but also hand labour activists over to the regime’s security and intelligence apparatus, openly acting as collaborators of repression.

Defenders of Iranian workers and toilers abroad!

We support the call issued by the “Coordinating Committee for the Protest Demonstration in Geneva” for a rally on June 5 from 12:00 to 15:00 at Place des Nations and call upon everyone to participate in this protest gathering. Together, we condemn the reactionary and anti-human war unleashed by the governments of the United States, Israel, and Iran. At the same time, we demand the unconditional release of workers and all political prisoners in Iran and expose the conciliatory policies of the International Labor Organization toward capitalist and anti-worker governments.

Down with the regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran!
Long live workers’ councils!
Long live freedom — long live socialism!
Long live the international solidarity of the working class!
