We condemn the execution of 5 political prisoners in the prisons of Mashhad and Zahedan
On December 31, 2020, 3 political prisoners from Golestan Province were executed on political charges in the Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. These were. Without informing their families and without a final visit Hamid Rastbala, Kabir Saadat Jahani and Mohammad Ali Arayesh were executed.
Court judgments in Iran are unfair, concern themselves more with formal correctness then with justice and are issued at the request of interrogators.
These interrogators use all means, including torture, to compel the accused to confess.
The three prisoners were sentenced to death for membership in Hezbe Al-Furqan and the Sunni National Solidarity Group. However, based on the information available, they were around 10 to 12 years old during their active service in the Sunni National Solidarity Group from 1992 to 1997. This is another example of false accusations and a lack of transparency in court.
On Sunday January 3, 2021, two Belutsch prisoners were also executed in Zahedan prison on political charges. Hassan Dehvari and Elias Qalandarzehi were arrested by officials from the Ministry of Information on April 5, 2014 in the city of Saravan. The causes for their arrest, were the political activities of their family members abroad. In order to force their relatives to return to Iran, these two were taken hostage. They had been advised that they would not be executed if their relatives stopped their activities against the Islamic Republic.
