Summary of the organization’s declaration Fadaian (aghaliyat) on the occasion of May 1<\/em><\/p>\n

On this day the workers of the
\ndifferent countries are demonstrating their united will and their class
\n interests in the fight against capitalism and the creation of
\nsocialism.<\/p>\n

The continuing ten years’ lasting
\ncrisis of the capitalist world order is carried on the shoulders of the
\nworking class. This has intensified the contradictions inherent in
\ncapitalism. It has repeatedly been shown that the only way to resolve
\nthese contradictions is the destruction of capitalism and the
\nestablishment of socialism.<\/p>\n

Comrade workers! Fighting workers!<\/p>\n

The workers in Iran are part of
\nthe global working class and society and are fighting for the abolition
\n of exploitation and social injustice: As well as for the creation of
\nsocialism.<\/p>\n

The capitalists in Iran and their
\nsupporting government have brought the workers into a difficult economic
\n crisis. The freezing and reduction of wages continue to intensify. The
\nminimum wage does not even reach 1\u20444 of the poverty limit. Temporary
\nemployment contracts, blank employment contracts, insecure jobs, mass
\ndismissals and an increase in the number of young unemployed have led to
\n mass unemployment and the workers are increasingly sinking into
\npoverty, as the rich have become even richer.<\/p>\n

The massive unemployment has
\nnegatively affected workers’ struggles. The reprisals of the regime are
\n addressed, among other things, at the workers. In the last Iranian
\ncalendar year, 400 protesting or striking workers were arrested and
\nsentenced to Prison time or Fine penalties, some were even sentenced to
\n whiplashes and fired.<\/p>\n

Despite the repressive measures of
\n the regime, not a single day goes by on which protests or strikes do
\nnot take place. For about a year, workers have organized hundreds of
\nprotest campaigns across almost all production areas and across the
\nentire country, and tens of thousands have participated.<\/p>\n

The labor disputes have not only
\nincreased in the past year, but have also reached a new quality. It
\nseems that a new class consciousness has developed in the working class
\n movement. The workers have come out of the factories and are carrying
\ntheir protests to the streets. They distanced themselves from the
\nregime organizations and act independently. Their demands go beyond
\ntheir operational interests and include political slogans against the
\nregime. Never before have retirees and the unemployed participated in
\nthe protests, as much as in the last year.<\/p>\n

Comrade workers! Fighting workers!<\/p>\n

The 1st of May is Labor Day,
\nthe day of the demonstration of labor power. On this day demands are
\nmade, which are ignored by the capitalists and the regime. The main
\ndemands of the Iranian workers on this day are that the government
\nrecognizes May 1 as a holiday and the right of workers to attend
\nrallies and demonstrations. In addition, the Iranian working class votes
\n for two main demands. These are, on the one hand, the right to
\norganize workers’ organizations independent of the state, the right to
\nstrike and, on the other hand, the raising of the minimum wage over the
\n poverty limit.<\/p>\n

Organization Fadaian (aghaliyat)
\ncongratulates on May 1 and supports all demands and labor struggles,
\nincluding street protests. We call upon all workers, workers
\n‘activists, workers’ organizations and the Activists and sympathizers of
\n our organization to participate in rallies and protests on 1 May.<\/p>\n

Down with the Islamic Government \u2013 Long live the Council Government!<\/p>\n

Down with capitalism – Long live socialism!<\/p>\n
